The Crypto-Cel IF test produced by Cellabs, was the first stain to receive UK Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) accreditation. It is an in vitro immunofluorescent test for the detection of Cryptosporidium oocysts in faecal and environmental specimens.

The fluorescein-labelled monoclonal antibody reagent binds specifically to Cryptosporidium oocysts on the slide. Cryptosporidium oocysts stain a striking bright green and visualisation is enhanced by the Evans Blue counter stain, which gives a red background and suppresses non-specific fluorescence.

The Crypto-Cel IF test gives positive, reliable results. In addition it is cost effective and can be purchased as a kit.
